Non-Residential Efficiency Rebate Program
National Fuel Gas's CIP is offering western New York small, non-residential customers whose facilities use less than 12,000 Mcf (thousand cubic feet) of natural gas per year for upgrading to more energy-efficient equipment.
Qualified non-residential customers can choose from one of two rebate options
- 1 Fixed (Pre-Qualified) Rebate – Fixed rebates available on pre-qualified equipment. The list below summarizes the types of equipment
and rebates associated with upgrades to those items that are now being offered as part of the CIP.
- 2 Customized (Performance-Base) Rebate - Rebates are determined on a case-by-case basis, based on the results of an energy-use analysis. Customized rebates can be as much as 50 percent of the incremental equipment and installation costs, up to $25,000. This may result in a larger rebate compared to the fixed rebate.
Background
On June 23, 2008 the New York State Public Service Commission (PSC) issued an Order establishing an Energy Efficiency Portfolio Standard (EEPS) for New York State. In this Order, all New York State utilities were required to implement a residential natural gas heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) energy efficiency program.
In December 2009 the National Fuel Gas Distribution Corporation announced the third year of its Conservation Incentive Program (CIP). CIP offers rebates for the installation of qualified high-efficiency equipment meeting specific efficiency ratings. The third year of the CIP was approved by the New York State Public Service Commission (PSC) on October 15, 2009. Read National Fuel's CIP Announcement
