On May 7, 2012 Amherst New York passed a resolution adopting the
New York State D.E.C. Climate Smart Communities Pledge.
Climate Smart Communities (CSC) is an unprecedented partnership between New York State and local communities. Its goal is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and save taxpayer dollars through climate smart actions that also promote community goals of health and safety, affordability, economic vitality and quality of life.
Dr. Patricia Trawinski has been selected as the coordinator of the climate smart communities committee for the Town of Amherst, N.Y. The committee is currently seeking interested parties who possess some knowledge of energy issues and would like to volunteer for this committee.
